Went in for another surgery today. Everything during the procedure went ok, but had a little issue in post-op. I always ask for a little bit of petroleum jelly when I wake up because my lips get super chapped in surgery and the nurse brought me a moisturizing balm instead. Didn’t think anything of it until I was on the phone with the boyfriend and could feel my lips and tongue swelling up. I called the nurse and we figured out that the balm had coconut oil in it which I’m super allergic to so we had to add some Benadryl to the post-op cocktail, so embarrassing. This is the most pain I’ve had post-op so far and I’m pretty much crawling everywhere because my leg is too weak to walk on.
