I wish I hadn’t been here enough to know the effects of my check in time or have a favorite anesthesiologist, but that’s my life now. Of the 31 surgeries this will be the 26th with this team. A 0530 show time means I’m less likely to be delayed and will be on the otherContinue reading “Surgery #31”

Peg Leg
Well we have a new mobility aid for the days my leg doesn’t want to support me. It’s more portable than the scooter since the scooter is difficult to get it in and out of the car because of its size and allows for more function than crutches since it allows me to keep aContinue reading “Peg Leg”
New Ride
Well we have a new ride. I’ve gotten to where my leg doesn’t want to cooperate at all some days so now I have this to help me around the house on the days I need it so I don’t have to rely on crutches. Not sure how I feel about it.
Surgery #30 Failed
TBH today kind of sucked. Surgery was stopped but still ended up with me back on crutches. I was all checked in for surgery #30 for them to fillet my leg today, but after the sedatives, the nerve block, & the max allowed of local were in they had to stop until they can putContinue reading “Surgery #30 Failed”
Surgery #29
All checked in for surgery #29… starving, sleepy, and ready for my propofol nap so we can get to the after nap snack. I’m so over all of this.
Womp womp
The verdict is in. We were hoping to be close to done with ablations, and on to the next phase of treatment, but I just got the call from the surgeon that they didn’t get it all yet so I’m scheduled for yet another surgery in Colorado. Still stuck in phase 1 a little longer.Continue reading “Womp womp”
Iontophoresis round 2
So whatever this sorcery is, my shoulder felt a lot better after therapy with it so now we’re doing a round on my elbow. TBH when the PT said what this was, it sounded like a load of BS to me… buuut it’s actually been very effective. They’ve put me on oral corticosteroids 20+ timesContinue reading “Iontophoresis round 2”
Iontophoresis
Well the science experiment that is my little body continues. My PT thinks I tore my rotator cuff since the X-rays were clear, but I’m still having a fuck ton of pain and trouble with ROM in my shoulder. It’s been a month since the initial injury and 2 weeks since the VA said theyContinue reading “Iontophoresis”
Special Shoes
Ok y’all know I complain about the VA a LOT because a lot of things here are broken, HOWEVER the P&O Clinic is the coolest thing here. I wasn’t sure about what they even did when I was referred here, but this dude legit just custom built up a pair of sandals (he’s still workingContinue reading “Special Shoes”
Tumble
Well neuropathy is a bitch. Since I’ve lost sensation on the bottom of my foot, I trip and slip a lot, but the other day it was down the stairs. It bought me a series of X-rays which thankfully didn’t show any fractures but I partially subluxed my scapula so it’s back to Chiro toContinue reading “Tumble”
