Surgery #5
So apparently my surgeon is a legend. Everywhere I went people treated me like a VIP since I was his patient. MRI was completed first & then I headed into pre-op. Everybody that’s seen me is telling me pretty much everything that it ridiculous that my previous surgeon treated me without doing an angiogram, usedContinue reading “Surgery #5”
Consult
Had my consult with Dr. Yakes at the Yakes Vascular Malformation Center today. Not only is he a legend in the medical field but the guy was an Army Ranger before he became a surgeon. I heard he was world-renowned, but he literally has maps in his office with pins from his patients from allContinue reading “Consult”
Colorado Bound!
Well today’s the day. We are headed to Colorado to see the specialist. Toni came along to help me through the airport and drive me around when I’m all drugged up after surgery. We went for pre-op pedis & dinner.
Labs
All of the labs that Dr. Yakes’s team from Colorado requested were done and close enough to normal limits that they are willing to see me next week.
Master’s Graduation
Oh yeah. So I did a thing! I graduated with my Master’s Degree from AMU today. I was going to skip the ceremony like I did with all of my other degrees, but my kiddo asked to watch me graduate so we headed to DC for the ceremony.
Just a sprain

I called the doc and they had me stop at the clinic at Fairchild when I landed in Spokane just to make sure nothing was broken. Unfortunately for the poor rad tech,Continue reading “Just a sprain”
TDY to DEOMI
This week I’m TDY for my first training since taking over as the HRA for the wing. I’m at DEOMI duding the day and staying in gorgeous Cocoa Beach, FL. I’ve met some amazing ladies down here and had a blast hanging with them this week.
Groundhogs Day
Met with the surgeon today to go over my post-op MRI. After 4 rounds of embolization it’s better in some areas and worse in others. He’s basically giving him. We are looking at options, but it’s most likely that they’ll send my stuff to Colorado for a consult with a specialist down there. The alternativeContinue reading “Groundhogs Day”
MRI #5
It’s MRI time again! Hoping the whole AVM is clotted so we can be done!
