Surgery #4 and the pain is so much worse. The nurse recommended they added Flexoril to my post-op cocktail to help with the muscle spasms since their pierced through the muscle a bunch. I asked for crutches & the bitchy NP said no, but the nurse told me I should use them if I canContinue reading “Surgery #4”

Last drill as a First Sergeant!!
Well it was my last drill as a First Sergeant. I’m soooo excited for my new position, but it’s also bittersweet because this has been the most fulfilling position I’ve ever had. Since we have the 252 COG change of command the 242 had to come over to the Westside so I stole their guidonContinue reading “Last drill as a First Sergeant!!”
MRI Time Again
Post-Op MRI time again. There’s not enough Flexoril to stop the spasms while I’m trying to lay still.
Re-enlistment
I re-enlisted today for 6 more years! At the end of this one I’ll be eligible to retire!!
Surgery #3
Went in for another surgery today. Everything during the procedure went ok, but had a little issue in post-op. I always ask for a little bit of petroleum jelly when I wake up because my lips get super chapped in surgery and the nurse brought me a moisturizing balm instead. Didn’t think anything of itContinue reading “Surgery #3”
Ugh
Well pushing too hard caught up with me. Had a migraine so I thought I’d stop by the clinic for a shot of Toradol & head back to work, but apparently I looked like garbage & my vitals were trash so they kept me at the med group for 4 hours to bolus IV fluids,Continue reading “Ugh”
New Post-Op Scans
It’s slightly smaller but I’m started to get a bulge on the back of my calf that wasn’t there before.
April Fools!
Since I have to wear tennis shoes instead of my combat boots in uniform my Chief keeps calling them my maternity shoes. So just to mess with him I threw on my old maternity uniforms that I’d brought in for one of my troops and snapped a pic to freak the Chief out.
Back at the Hospital
…but not the patient this time! Stopped to visit a friend and have Qdoba. We were laughing about how I look normal before and pregnant after a burrito so we took pics to send to my boyfriend to prove it.
MRI Time
Post-Op MRI day. 2 hours of trying to hold still and avoid muscle spasms. Hopefully there’s a lot of progress. The doc said 2-4 surgeries so we’ll see how much progress surgery #1 made. I’m hoping for less because the recovery sucks.
